Hunting & Fishing

Fishing and Boating

Boulder Lake Reservoir includes walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, sunfish, and crappie. Good places for shore fishing are next to the dam, near the public boat launch off the Boulder Dam Rd. During business hours, Boulder Lake ELC allows public fishing off its handicapped accessible fishing dock.

Public boat launch access is located at the dam. The reservoir is more desirable for smaller motored or motorless boats than neighboring Island Lake and Fish Lake reservoirs. Non-powered vehicles have the right of way over powered vehicles.

Hunting and Trapping

The Boulder Lake Management Area is open to the public for hunting/trapping. Many animals call the management area their home. White-tail deer, ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare are among the many hunters seek out. Follow the hunting/trapping seasons rules and regulations. Be safe and respectful of non-hunters when using the management area.
