Citizen & Student Monitoring

Involving citizens & students in monitoring projects allows Boulder to increase awareness and understanding of indicator species and how they relate to natural resource management.

Indicator species such as birds and amphibians are sensitive to habitat change. Thus, data from monitoring surveys over a period of years indicating the presence or absence of various species are extremely valuable. This data helps guide resource managers at Boulder as they determine the future management of the ecosystem.
