Class Objective: Students will gain awareness, knowledge and skills with the historical culture and archaeology of the region.

Possible Lesson Activies
(Offered Spring, Summer, and Fall - Grades 3-8)

Mock Dig. Students learn scientific method and cultural history as they conduct a mock dig.

Clay Pot. Students will piece together their own archaeologic study with parts of a clay pot they are given.

Atlatl, Bow Drill and Flint and Steel. Students learn about and try these historical skills of speer throwing with an atlatl (Paleo period), ancient fire making with bowdrill and flint and steel from the times of the fur trade.
